The Museum is located at the heart of the Rec district in Igualada, 400 m from the Town Centre (plaça de l’Ajuntament)

Car Park. Free parking available at a short distance from the Museum (200 m), at the intersection of the carrer Sant Faust and the carrer del Rec.

Hispano Igualadina. Regular coach service.

Thursday and Friday afternoons: From 16 to 18.30 h (temporary exhibitions until 20 h) / July and August closed.
Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays: From 11 to 14 h

Cal Granotes Tannery (Starting point: Cal BoyerBuilding)

Closed on the following days

Every Monday; 1st, 5th (afternoon) and 6th of January; Easter Tuesday; 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of December.
The Festival House remains closed throughout August.

Explanatory captions
In the different exhibition halls of the Museu you will find explanatory captions in Catalan, Spanish and English.

Free Wifi
All the exhibition halls of the Leather Museum (Cal Boyer) are provided with free wifi connection.

Lockers and cloakroom
The Museum has lockers and a cloakroom where personal items may be left free of charge. For security reasons, it is obligatory to leave umbrellas, handbags, knapsacks, and items measuring greater than 40 x 40 cm.

Visits

Individuals and families

The tickets entitle all visitors, whether individual, in pairs or accompanied by friends, as well as family groups, to an unguided visit to the Cal Granotes Tannery (18th century) and the Leather Museum, where you can experience the permanent exhibition spaces devoted to leather, its history and manufacture (the Tanner’s Craft and the A Universe of Leather halls), as well as the Man and Water space.

You can also visit the temporary exhibitions, which are regularly organized around different subjects and admissions to which are free of charge.

Groups (minimum 10 people)

Single or combined admissions for visitors who wish to join a guided tour of the Cal Granotes Tannery and the different Museum spaces (the Tanner’s Craft, the A Universe of Leather and the Man and Water halls) can be booked by calling 938046752 or writing to museupell@diba.cat.

We organize tours of 1.30 or 2 hours depending on the spaces you wish to visit or those that are of special interest to the groups.

Guided tours may be booked in advance to the other heritage spaces managed by the Museum: l’Espelt Roman villa, the Igualadina Cotonera, the Sant Jaume Sesoliveres Church and the Cal Pasqual Gas Generator.

Recommmendations and regulations

– Photographs (without flash) may be taken and video recordings made and shared on social networks.
– Seating, toilets and a fountain can be found in the Museum courtyard.  No smoking is allowed in the building and no drinks or snacks may be consumed on the premises.
– No animals or pets are allowed into the Museum, with the exception of guide dogs.
– All bags, knapsacks, umbrellas and items measuring in excess of 40 x 40 cm must be left in the checkroom.
– Our public services staff are at your disposal and will respond to any suggestion or enquiry you may have.
